NEW!  Conservation Planning Help for Small-Scale Landowners

Validus is pleased to announce a new service to help small-scale landowners with conservation planning.  Validus’ professional planners combine up-to-date electronic information and computerized tools with real-world experience to propose conservation practices to landowners that will have a true and lasting benefit to their land.  The conservation plan is developed to meet the landowner’s resource goals, within his or her budget.  As the plan is implemented, the landowner has all the control with the expertise of Validus supporting him or her.  Contact Wes Phillips in our office to get started today!

Environment Planning

Validus is the only private company that invested funds, time and energy to develop and hold a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Natural Resources Conservation Service to train and certify people in a variety of TSP classifications. Validus held that MOU until late 2010 when the USDA office of General Counsel advised NRCS to cancel the MOU because Validus had a direct financial interest in TSP certification. Validus remains certified as a TSP through NRCS, and those people trained and certified by Validus maintain their TSP certification as long as they keep their conservation assistance training up-to-date. In addition, Validus may still train people and those trained may seek TSP certification through the NRCS TSP certification process.

This on-farm assistance includes:

  • Walking the farm
  • Identifying client goals
  • Assessing resource concerns
  • Developing conservation alternatives
  • Documenting the client’s conservation decisions

The final product includes a record of client decisions, a tentative schedule for implementation and suggestions for operation and maintenance, including record keeping.

Our trained planners are registered Technical Service Providers (TSPs) who understand the complexity of environmental regulations.

The final Planning product includes:

  • Conservation Plans
  • Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP)
  • Nutrient Management Plans (NMP)
  • Conservation Reserve Program Plans (CRP)
  • Prescribed Burn Plans
  • Organic Transition Plans
