Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement

In early February, US Trade Representative, Michael Forman signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement. Now, the Administration must submit the agreement to Congress, which has 90 days to pass it through the House and Senate.

The twelve countries currently involved in the TPP agreement account for 40% of world GDP and 1/3rd of all global trade. The agreement will most heavily affect the livestock industry by opening up new free trade and lucrative markets such as Japan.
